Top COPYRIGHT ISSUES Copyright laws exist to protect the artist from illegal distribution of their work. However, where you own the original LP or recording you are allowed to make a copy onto a different medium e.g. CD/cassette tape where that recording is for your own use. It would not be legal to sell or give that copy to anyone else for their use. You are also allowed to make a copy of the original recording for safekeeping purposes. You may own LPs etc where the value of those recordings restricts your enjoyment of them. Transferring these recordings to CD is both legal (provided they are for your own use) and sensible. Only then can you care for your treasured collection while it retains its value. We are very aware of and sensitive to the original artists copyright and will make every effort (including monitoring of broadcast mediums, internet, radio etc) to prevent illegal copying or distribution of any recording (unless in the public domain or the actual copyright holder) that is transferred to CD by ourselves. We will transfer recordings to CD and provide one copy only. Requests for multiple copies will be refused unless the recording is in the public domain or you provide proof that you hold the copyright.

CONDITION OF ORIGINAL MEDIA
The condition of the original recording (LP.cassette etc) will determine if and how the transfer to CD can be made. Where media is badly damaged by severe scratches, warping, centre hole elongation etc then we reserve the right to return these media to you. However, before doing so we would discuss with you all the possibilities of transfer to CD including cost, quality and feasability. Please use the order form to describe any known scratches, skipping or other defects on your recordings so that we can be aware of them prior to digitizing. If there is damage to a particular track that you do not wish to be transferred then please detail this also when ordering. Be aware that we can restore a recording but not bring it back from the dead. That does not stop us from trying however. Artificial resusitation of recordings is our speciality.
